Amazon’s RING : Trojan Horse For Mass Surveillance
Dan Dicks “If you thought the slow boil of surveillance was bad before, just wait until you see how much they turned up the heat during the biggest TV event of the year. Yesterday during the Super Bowl, while millions of people were glued to their screens, Ring, which is Amazon’s surveillance beast, dropped their new AI featured ad called Search Party. You post a cute photo of your recently lost dog in the app and all of a sudden every Ring camera in the neighborhood lights up. They start scanning and searching for your pet while feeding the data back to Amazon’s Hive mind. They claim it’s to find pets and they brag that more than a dog a day has been found since this has been launched. Adorable, right? Think again. This is the most insidious piece of surveillance propaganda they’ve ever shoved down our throats. It’s straight up dystopian nightmare fuel. And they’re not hiding it anymore, guys. They’re flaunting it during the Super Bowl.”
